Oh, this page... There is a lot to unpack here, so I'll remind of key facts from previous events. Yarr just learned that Semeon's gift transfers to whoever kills him, and Yarr knows who killed Semeon. And Max is ready to kill anyone just to get the gift, but he thinks it was Yarr. Before this, while Yarr was willing to sacrifice himself to save Jule, there was still hope that he'll be able to weasel his way out of it somehow, but now...

"I care for you, I'll die for you..." He now realizes that, yeah, he might actually have to die.

Also, with new info about the goal of Andrew's focus (and its transfer to Jule along with some other unspecified stuff) there is something to think about regarding Semeon's death: "At that moment I didn't really feel anything. Like somebody else did it".
